“We live in a world where ideas do not follow neat subject boundaries like we teach in schools. I like to blend boundaries and find tools and resources to enable our students to access their learning in any form that will encourage them to explore more.
This blog will hopefully showcase some of the ideas I am working on at any one time and all collaboration, feedback, suggestions are welcomed if it means that more learning take place.
All ideas are my own although I then apply them in a range of settings.”
Mishmashlearning became lost as I left education and teaching in Autumn 2016 after a mental health breakdown too far. In 2017 I called myself an “artist” and so began a new life. I am adding to this page three years on. I have clearly achieved “sales of £1000 of art or more” to be able to call myself a “professional artist”. I have now participated in three local (Purbeck) Art Weeks as an active “Open Studio” based at home. In 2020 a new location as I now jointly rent a shop unit with a fellow local artist and our shared Open Studio will be our shop – “The Courtyard Studio – Art in the Heart of Swanage”.
I mainly post about my art on Facebook (@AndyKnillArt) and Instagram (@andy.knill) and also have a website / blog at http://www.andyknillart.com.
It is a job but it is also a hobby and ongoing therapy for my mental health. Is now also a retired teacher and have taken my pension early to allow the art to be enjoyed and not have to provide my living.
